CHESTER HAWKINS: Natural Causes intangible arts [IA019] / LP 2016
Soundtrack for the film "Pale Trees" (dir. Tim Ashby). Composed and recorded during the Autumn of 2015, Natural Causes offers deeply saturated environmental drones, textures, synthetic pulses, epic journeys and minute ecosystems of sound. Two side-long tracks, ideal for profound escapism.
CHESTER HAWKINS: Apostasy Suite intangible arts [IA017] / 4-panel digipak CD 2015
Longer-form dynamic sculptures in drone, texture, and deep gravity. Six tracks of articulated scalding grey-ness. Escapism by means of burning. Levitation by restriction. All tracks recorded live at gigs or live in studio: all are grand, composed works of ponderously huge wingspan for those who prefer to sleep without dreams. Over 70 minutes. Glacial and imperative.
"...electronic Berlin School meets Industrial hybrid at a futuristic World of Tomorrow exhibit..." -- Aural Innovations
Murmurations was a live demonstration of reflex actions between improvised audio and interpretive video generators. All sounds [audio/video oscillators & mobile telephone] by Hawkins. Libretto text & layout by Hawkins. Audio capture by Hawkins & Sanford. Recorded live 7th February 2015 at Pyramid Atlantic Art Center, Silver Spring MD. Event curated by DC Sonic Circuits.

CHESTER HAWKINS: Semisolids intangible arts [IA016] / 6-panel digipak CD 2014
Nine tracks of heavy electronics: cosmic synthi excursions, deep drone, electroacoustic space, experimental trances. Black kosmische raga miniatures. Good fun. "An excellent release, this cosmic trip by Hawkins. Let’s have a couple more." - Vital Weekly "We kinda knew this one was gonna be something special before we even heard it...Nine puzzling experiments in sound here and each one has something unique to offer. This disc sounds something like the soundtrack to a bizarre art film." - Baby Sue CD in 6-panel digipak: $10 from the shop [here].
CHESTER HAWKINS: bad lights / third rail intangible arts [IA018] / netlabel release 2013
Digital single, recorded during the early sessions for the Hawkins "Semisolids" CD. A playful tease. "Bad Lights" is an alternate mix of a soundtrack for Timothy Ashby's short film This is Ellen. "Third Rail" was recorded on the road (and in a train car) while traveling to a festival performance in Lowell, MA. An oddly matched pair of tracks from February 2013 with a vaguely "electrical" theme... $1 download available [HERE].
SEMISOLID: Black Dwarf zeromoon [zero155] / CDR 2013
A single hour-long composition of ponderous, glacial drone and polymorphic electronic textures. Volcanic dream-fluid. Enormous walls of atonal soundscapes. Mountains of arctic mastodon bones forming pyramids to the cosmos. Hymns to dead stars. Deeply cold listening.
Performed and recorded by Chester Hawkins at Intangible Arts, Washington DC 11-30 august 2013 while waiting for summer to die (finally). Audio mastering by Mark Beazley.
Limited edition CDR-only release, made for sale at semisolid performances at the 2013 Experi-MENTAL festival and the 2013 Sonic Circuits festival. A few copies remain. CDR (black both sides) in plastic sleeve: $5 at the shop [here].
BLUE SAUSAGE INFANT: A Cooling-Board Bacchanal intangible arts [IA017] / CD gatefold wallet 2014 The final statement of BSI. Studio material recorded Sept-Dec 2012. Analog/modular experiments, stomping beat mayhem, deep astral drones, 1980s Berlin-flavored electronic curios. A bit more mean-spirited than "typical" BSI, if there is such a thing as "typical"... Originally released as a netlabel item on zeromoon. This CD edition has been fully remastered for optimal punch and psychic vinegar, and is presented in a gatefold wallet with new artwork by Hawkins. The final statement of BSI. Limited quantities were made... CD in 4-panel wallet: $5 from the shop [here].
BLUE SAUSAGE INFANT: Manitou Alrealon Musique [alrn034] / cd/digital 2012
Following the long-form kosmische excursions of the "Negative Space" LP, Manitou recalls the brutal energy and shorter attention span of the early BSI cassesttes. It's a beast of many flavors: huge analog drones, mutant caffeinated space-punk, musique concrete, krautrock-flavored jams, distorted industrial stomp... Guests include members of Pilesar, Insect Factory, Violet, Tag Cloud, and Timmy Sells His Soul. 6-panel digipak.

2012 QWARTZ AWARD NOMINEE FOR EXPERIMENTAL MUSIC! The first vinyl LP produced by the great Zeromoon label.

"Three excellent pieces of cosmic/krautrock like music, excellently produced and with great style and care. What more could you possibly want?" - Vital Weekly
"He knows how to communicate with audiences instead of just pummeling or agitating them. And on this album, at least, he's all about the ride, the turns, the surprises, and the visions." - Washington City Paper 180g colored vinyl LP [shrinkwrapped with LP in poly-lined paper inner to protect the printed inner-sleeve] -- $10 from the shop [here].

BLUE SAUSAGE INFANT: Locust Hit the Ground Screaming; 1987–2010 Chameleon Dish/Intangible Arts / Netlabel 2010
23 years of sonic exploration crushed down to 60 minutes. All material remastered from original cassettes and/or whatever source material I could find, and arranged in chronological order to provide the optimal educational experience...

FLIGHT OF THE SOLSTICE QUEENS
Zeromoon (zero010) CD digipak 2010 A deep dose of sonic escapism served in a variety of flavors, from the layered drone of pure head music to earthy krautrock grooves, full-on noise, and sound collage. With guests Mike Shanahan (Reanimation), Jason Mullinax (Pilesar), Gary Rouzer (Nine Strings), and Jeff Surak (Violet).
"Music that is made with some imagination, and care, and dare. This guy may be all over the place, but he knows what he is doing. An excellent release." -Vital Weekly CD in 4-panel digipak. $10 from the shop [here].
Zeromoon (zero101) free DL 2010 [LINK] "Blue Sausage Infant presents a sigil for Jhan Dean Egg on the tenth anniversary of his death."
Live recording from a performance at the Pyramid Atlantic, Silver Spring Maryland 14dec08. A ritualized set to honor longtime BSI collaborator JD Egg (aka Haunted Toilet). Dedicated to Jhan and Zen Hospice, San Francisco.
SCALPELS FOR THE ANIMAL GOD
Zeromoon (zero095) free DL 2009 [LINK] Intangible Arts (IA015) CD reissue, 2016 A righteous return to power after an 8-year silence: Three extended pieces of dark drone and noisy paranoid strangeness. Was briefly available as a handmade CDR with much longer studio version of "Scalpels."
"Once you get this record glued to your own deck, you may find it hard to pull it off again, feeling yourself drawn inexorably into a devilishly fascinating vortex. Much more structured and intelligent than most 'dark ambient' records we have encountered." - The Sound Projector

CHANGES TO BLIND & BLUE SAUSAGE INFANT
Intangible Arts (IA011) CDR
Material recorded in 1993. This collaboration was launched to perform CTb's sonic tour of a house at a one-off performance at the Last Exit in Troy, NY. Several hours of unbelievably strange improvisations were recorded at CTb's studio during the development of the live show.
This CDR contains the Last Exit performance as well as a few choice excerpts from the earlier sessions. Dense and expeditionary works that owe a great deal to the NY Downtown and artists like David Myers (Arcane Device). Available at Squidco [link].
